Last week, we explored three cleaning tips that would help create a more efficient house cleaning method. We’re all busy as we go about our day to day lives, and when our maid service doesn’t come for a while yet, it’s helpful to know the best way to clean our homes. Last week, we looked at how keeping our tools nearby, not wasting our steps, and cleaning from top to bottom could save time and energy. This week, the last three steps will build off of the previous tips, improving our house cleaning methods even more.
Clean What’s in Front of You: it might sound like an incredibly rigid rule— does this tip really save that might time? If you’re constantly cleaning this half way, going back to finish another thing, you’ve wasted so much time. It even lends itself to a cleaning that is less detailed. When you clean, concentrate your effort on what is in front of you. Don’t over extend yourself too far one way or another. This not only saves you a lot of time, but it helps you focus even more on the detail of what you’re cleaning.
Work in a Circular System: this step aligns perfectly with cleaning what is in front of you. Maybe you already have a great cleaning system down, but if not, Maid to Shine has found that cleaning rooms in a circle saves so much time. When you start cleaning a room, begin at the doorway and clean to the right. Utilise all of the previous steps shared: keep your tools near, work from top to bottom, clean what is in front of you, try not to back track, and keep moving through the room until you work your way back to the door. This step is one of the best ways to utilise all of the time saving steps.
Vacuum Your Way Out of the Room: the final time saving step is vacuuming (or mopping) your way out of the room after you’ve finished cleaning everything else. Doing this last prevents you from going over your work, again, needlessly. Just start at the furthest point in the room, vacuum (or mop) your way out of the room.
Cleaning efficiently and in a manner that saves time in your house cleanings is easy! You can save your energy and steps with a little bit of critical thought and acting upon it. It might take a little bit of planning to begin cleaning this way, but once these methods have become habits, it will be perfectly natural to clean this way!
