Having a cleaning service like Maid to Shine in Parker come clean your home or office is incredibly helpful. However, there are still other things you need to get clean that you might forget about. Here are a few household items you might miss in your day to day tidying up, and how to keep them clean.
Cleaning your computer keyboard
Keeping your keyboard clean is an important part of having a tidy and functional office space. However, getting all of those little crumbs out from between the keys can be tricky. One option is an air-duster, which you can find at any office supply store. It is a can of compressed air with a nozzle on top to aim that air into small crevices to clean out dust and other small debris.
A second option is the trusty post-it note. Simply peel one off and run the sticky side between your keys to pick up all the dust and crumbs that have accumulated there. You may need a few sticky notes to grab everything, but it is an easy, quick solution.
Sanitizing your mobile phone
Did you know that cell phones have been proven to usually have more bacteria on them than a toilet seat? Keeping them clean is something you should be sure to do. At the same time, they are something you need to be very careful with when cleaning—you don’t want to ruin your phone!
Start by turning your phone off and removing the case. Then carefully scrub off the mess using a Q-Tip dampened with distilled water. Most household cleaners are too harsh for many phones and may remove their various finishes, so stick with the distilled water and a little bit of rubbing alcohol if you need it. Be sure to get all the little nooks and crannies, including the camera lens. Next, go back to your case and do the same thing. Make sure everything is completely dry, then turn your phone back on and enjoy its cleanliness!
Disinfecting your television remote
A good maid service will give your remotes a quick wipe down when cleaning the rest of your home, but it doesn’t hurt to give them a good deep cleaning every now and then. Sanitizing your TV remote is a similar process as cleaning your phone. Take a Q-tip dampened with distilled water or a bit of rubbing alcohol and carefully scrub between the remote’s various buttons. Make sure not to let any water leak into the inside of the remote. Also, be sure not to accidentally rub off any of the markings on the buttons!
Keeping the little things in your life clean is just as important as keeping the big ones clean. Here at Maid to Shine we are happy to help you with both!
