Maid to Shine cleaning techs are experts in getting up pet hair, and we have a few tips to share with you.
Dust Thoroughly and Often
One of the ways to combat pet hair is to dust constantly and to use the right tools while dusting your living spaces and bedrooms. It can do wonders for your home in creating a pet-hair free environment. Pet hair floats through the air a lot like dust does. It settles in areas and spaces we don’t always think about and don’t always see. Keep these areas in mind when dusting out pet hair in the living spaces and bedrooms. Dust the rooms frequently and efficiently so that the pet hair gets to an area of the floor where it can be vacuumed or swept up. If the hair doesn’t like to come off of surfaces, use a microfibre cloth to help wipe it off.
Vacuum Frequently
Frequently vacuuming your floors and the furniture every week helps. If you have several large dogs, perhaps vacuum every other day if you’re really dedicated to this. Frequent vacuuming helps keep most of the pet hair up, prevents it from resettling in other areas, and makes sure that it doesn’t settle too deeply into the carpet either. Vacuum under tables, desks, and big furniture. Move the later every once in a blue moon so that too much pet hair doesn’t collect underneath.
Utilise Vacuum Attachments
Vacuum your cloth furniture, such as couches, chairs, recliners etc. Keeping the fur off of these items makes an impact on the cleanliness of your home. But be sure to fully utilise your vacuum’s attachments to do so. Use them to get the tight edge of the baseboards, to pull fur out of the cloth
Sweep and Mop Thoroughly
Some homes have hardwood floors, and regularly sweeping and moping the floors is just as important as regularly vacuuming the carpets and rugs. Sweep the floors thoroughly, several times (as needed), so that you get up all the fur you possibly can. It can also be helpful to use a microfibre cloth on your mop head, running it flat against the floor, to pick up little stray bits of hair that the broom. After sweeping the floors, mop them to get them shining. It will possibly pick up even more pet fur. Mop a second time if your floor needs it. It’s the final touch to having fur-free floors!
Removing pet hair from your home is a cinch with these nifty little tricks. Practicing them regularly and making them frequent, weekly habits can do wonders for your home!
