Regularly cleaning your home is important… or is it? Does it matter if you clean your home willy-nilly and all over? It probably doesn’t matter too much if you’re a little scattered and unorganized, right? But if you’re tight for time on a tight schedule and youwant to keep a clean home, what should you do? For the next two weeks, we’re going to look at a few handy tricks that will help you waste as little time as possible.
Keep Your Tools Nearby: this might be the not so obvious first step to an efficient house cleaning. But it really is a time saver. It’s simple, to be sure, but keeping the tools you need to clean your home nearby is important. Walking here, or there, up or down stairs might take only a few seconds every so often, but eventually, those detours add up! Keep your tools and cleaning supplies nearby and save yourself time.
Don’t Waste Your Steps: this continues with the same notions as the first tip. Don’t waste your steps. The less steps you take while cleaning, the more time you save yourself, and the less you have to do. A little critical thinking can save you a lot hassle. Don’t go back and forth from thing to thing when cleaning a room. Clean everything in a set pattern and move on. Try not to clean in a way that dirties something else you’ve already cleaned. Don’t vacuum the floors but then decide to dust! You’ll have to vacuum again.
Clean from Top to Bottom: it’s another “obviously logical” step when it’s put on paper, but we don’t always think about it while we’re cleaning. Cleaning from top to bottom brings all of the dirt above down below. You get so much more out of your cleaning this way.
Now, take some time and apply these first few steps when you clean your home. Does it make a difference? Is it easier or a smoother work flow? It certainly works for us at Maid to Shine, and we hope it helps you too! Next week, we’ll take a look at a few more time saving steps.
