Organization Tips for Back to School
When we go on to Pinterest to look for cute ways to organize that’s totally fun, but what’s the reality of actually painting that chalk wall, putting up the calendars and make sure everything is color coded? If you’re as busy as us when the kids head back to school, being Pinterest perfect probably isn’t going to happen (and that’s ok). We still want you to be organized though so we’ve pulled a few tips that are actually achievable when it comes to getting ready for school.
Online Calendar
We all know a calendar is a classic organization item, but it can be hard to remember to physically write down things. Instead opt to go online, this is especially great if you have older kids with cellphones. Find an app that’ll do the trick and download it on everyone’s phone. When something comes up i.e. dentist appointment instantly add to the calendar. Check out this article to find the perfect app for your family.
Hire someone to clean
Even if it’s just once a month, having a cleaning service come to your home can change your life. When things are dirty it can send us in to a less productive mood. Plus, who doesn’t love being in a clean home? Cleaning can take more time then you’d think so just leave it to professionals who have the training and supplies to get it done. If you’re in Colorado Springs consider working the best house cleaning service in town, Maid to Shine.
Create a parent inbox
If you’ve got multiple kiddos with folders full of papers get yourself a file organizer. This is the perfect way to keep up with permission slips, announcements or anything else that should have a parent look over it. If you really want to up the organization you can put individual files inside with for each child. Place the tray in the kitchen, near the door or in an area where the kids tend to gather after school. Putting it in a visible spot will remind both you and them to empty the folders so you’ll never miss a beat.
Homework station for back to school
It shouldn’t take an hour just for your kid to get ready to do their homework. Leave them room for no excuses with a homework station. This can be pretty simple. Find something like a toolbox and fill it with extra pencils, pens, highlighters, paper clips, glue sticks etc. This way there’s no scrounging around the junk drawers to try and gather supplies.
Those are just a couple of tips for you to consider as you send the munchkins back in to the classroom. What do you do stay organized, do you plan on trying any of these tricks for the upcoming school year? Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear from you!
